Interview Craig Farrell

1. How long have you been working in Jersey?

I have been working in Jersey on and off for 18 years, I did leave the island for higher education and career aspirations. I then returned to the Island about 10 years ago.

2. What do you do for iPS | Nautech? Explain your job

I am a specialist recruitment consultant in both seismic and maritime surveys.

3. What are the biggest differences between Jersey and London? What surprised you the most?

I was born in Germany but grew up in London, London being a big city was very different to Jersey and it was difficult to adapt to island life. You hear the term island live but never full understand what it means until you live in it.

4. What do you miss the most about London?

I miss the freedom of a bigger country as Jersey can get very isolated with bad weather and restricted in things to do, especially with a young family.

5. Was it hard to integrate?

Overall Jersey is great to integrate and welcomes many expats with different skills.

Crossing borders

Our iPS | Nautech colleagues are working at our offices in Jersey and The Netherlands. We celebrate our multicultural DNA because together we can achieve more. We introduce 3 of our colleagues who live and work in different countries than the country in which they were born. Why did they make their choice? What are the differences they experience? Read their stories.
