Profession: Mechanic

When did you start in de industry you are working in and why did you choose this work field?

I started in the Seismic industry in 1988 and fell into this work by seeing an advert when I was leaving the Royal Navy.

What is your current role and on which role did you start?

My current role is Mechanic but over the years I have worked from a Trainee to Chief.

When did you get in touch with iPS | Nautech?

I first registered with Nautech in 2019.

Can you tell us more about your rotations you did?

Usually, I work 5 weeks on 5 weeks off rotation but these can change depending on which company you are contracted to. Also sometimes these can be shortened or extended due to operational requirements.

Can you tell us more about what kind of projects you were involved in via iPS | Nautech?

The projects I have been involved in via Nautech have been 3D Seismic Surveys.

If you should explain the contact you have with iPS | Nautech, how would you describe it?

The contact I have had with Nautech has been excellent. With contracts, travel arrangements, etc. all being made efficiently and on time. Also, the office staff has given a very high level of support and assistance when preparing to go out to work.

What do you find the most inspiring aspect of your work/job?

Being able to travel, this type of work has enabled me to work all over the world and see and visit many places that I would not have been able to otherwise… Also working with other crew members of different nationalities and backgrounds.
